Greetings,
I have a new version of WinSDR ready. You can download it from here
http://www.seismicnet.com/winsdr/. This release requires that you upgrade
the firmware on the serial output A/D board or use the new DOS SDR Server
(sdrservr.exe) program. The SDR Server exe is in the setup program and in
the exe only zip file. Serial A/D board users will need to read this page
http://www.seismicnet.com/winsdr/firmware.html for a step by step procedure
on how to upgrade the firmware on the A/D board. Please let me know if you
successfully upgrade your serial A/D board or if you have any problems.
Also, if you see any errors on the web page please email me.
The main new feature, and the reason you need to upgrade the A/D board
software, is the ability to change the baud rate between the A/D board and
the WinSDR system. Before the baud rate was fixed at 38.4K. This is fine for
100 SPS and 8 channels but an overkill if you at a slower SPS rate or number
of channels. WinSDR will give you an error message if you select a baud rate
that is too slow for the SPS rate and number of channels you have selected.
The baud rate is saved in the flash memory on the Serial A/D board and in
the sdrservr.ini file. This way both A/D board systems can start up at the
right baud rate after recycling the power.
I also fixed several bugs in the replay window. One was the Start button
always going the beginning of the record file and the other was the display
X Scale time. The X Scale in the replay window should be in minutes per line
per channel. It wasn't, but now it is... If you set the X Scale to 10 and
show 12 lines the time difference should be 2 hours and you should only have
to scroll 12 times to see the data for that day. This assumes that there are
no holes in the data....
I also documented the Replay Only feature of WinSDR here
http://www.seismicnet.com/winsdr/replayonly.html. If you have your WinSDR
system on a network you may be interested in this feature. It allows you to
do a Replay on the daily record files on another system using WinSDR placed
in the mode.
That's it for now.
